My name is Sally Alexander and I am a former high school history teacher turned stay-at-home mom. Weirdly, I also somehow became a homeschooling mom and moved into a much smaller house and started traveling around the country. To be honest, there are days when I can’t really remember exactly how I got to this moment, and that is one of the reasons I write things down. I am committed to living a life closer, simpler, and freer than it was the day before and to, hopefully, encourage others to do the same.

Basic facts: I live in Atlanta, I’ve been married for 19 years to my wonderful husband, Jay, and I have 4 kids.

My kids attend a program where they go to school for 2 days a week and I teach them the other days, so sometimes I write about that. At the start of 2015 our family changed schooling options, moved into a much smaller house, and began a family mission to spend the night in all 50 states so I write about that as well.

And I ramble about how hard it is to feel like I’m accomplishing all the things I think I’m supposed to be, and the weight of raising children while also feeling like I have no idea what I’m doing, and my faith and my fears and, really, anything that I wrestle with so that I can work through my own thoughts.

I hope that what I say is encouraging, maybe a little convicting, but always entertaining.

Thanks for stopping by.
